Short answers to common questions.
Are suggestions while typing billed?
No. Suggestions are never billed. Only searches are counted: a /v1/search call for the first page of results. Pages 2 and later are free. See Plans and billing.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new store starts with a 14-day free trial of the Growth plan, and you do not need a card.
What happens to my store if SeekGist is slow or down?
Your store keeps working. Every connector waits at most 300 ms. On a timeout or any error, the store's own search serves that request. See Store fallback and the status page.
Do you store my shoppers' personal data?
Not by default. Recent searches stay only in the shopper's browser. Search logs keep the search text with emails and phone numbers masked, and a hashed session id: no names, emails, addresses or IP addresses. See Security and your data.
Which languages are supported?
Arabic and English are first-class, including Arabizi, dialect words and mixed Arabic-English queries. The design allows more languages (for example French or Turkish) later without changes to your data.
How good is the search?
On our public demo catalog of 1981 made-up products, SeekGist scores 0.927 nDCG@10 without AI (1 is perfect), and 2.5% of the test queries find nothing. These numbers come from eval/report.md (run of 2026-10-14 (commit d772f92)). Results on your own catalog depend on your data: book a demo and we run your shoppers' searches on a copy of your catalog. How fast is search?
Our targets for the server-side p95 (95% of requests are faster) are under 50 ms for suggestions and under 100 ms for search without AI. We will publish measured numbers from production servers, from monitoring, after launch.
Will SeekGist overwrite my own Arabic product names?
No. Catalog translation marks every text it writes as AI-translated. If a person has written or edited a text, SeekGist never changes it, in SeekGist or in your store. You can review translations, with a diff, before they go live. See Catalog translation.
Can the shopping assistant make up prices?
No. The AI model never sees prices, stock or links, and every answer is checked against your catalog before the shopper sees it. Prices on the cards come from your catalog. See Shopping assistant.
Which store platforms work with SeekGist?
OpenCart (2.x, 3.x, 4.x), WooCommerce, Magento 2, Shopify, Salla and Zid, plus a REST API and a search widget for any site. The Shopify, Salla and Zid apps are not in their app stores yet. See the quick starts.
Can I add my own synonyms and rules?
Yes. In the dashboard you can edit synonyms, import and export them, and approve synonyms that SeekGist suggests from searches that found nothing. Rules let you pin, boost, bury or hide products, redirect a search to a page, or show a banner.
Can I get my data out, or delete it?
Yes. Settings > Your data has Export all data and Delete store. Both run as jobs, and both are in the API too. See Security and your data.
